  • 1885 - Distillery is founded by Stanisalo Cobianchi and Elisir Lungavita is launched
  • 1896 - Elisir Lungavita is renamed Amaro Montenegro in honor of Princess Elena of Montenegro on the occasion of her wedding to Prince Victor Emmanuel III of Italy
  • 1921 - Famed Italian poet and war hero Gabriele D'Annunzio declares Amaro Montenegro the "Liqueur of Virtues"
  • 2018 - First major packaging update in decades makes the bottle slimmer and easier to pour from
